HOW TO KEEP YOUR sourdough loaF FRESH

Here’s a quick guide for storing and keeping your sourdough delicious from the first slice to the last.

Like a good crunch?:

Keep your loaf in paper bag to preserve its crunch for first 2 days.

Less Crunch?:
Keep your loaf in a plastic bag for first 2 days

Planning Ahead?:

If you wont finish your bread within 5 days, I recommend freezing your loaf.

FREEZING OPTIONS:

Option 1: Slice and Freeze.

Slice your loaf, then freeze in plastic bag. This way is easier to just grab a slice, pop it in the toaster, and enjoy.

Option 2: Freeze the whole loaf.

Wrap the entire loaf and freeze it whole. This is great if you want to enjoy the whole loaf for a family dinner or make a bread bowl.

REFRESHING ENTIRE FROZEN LOAF:

Defrost it completely (let it sit on the counter for roughly 4 hours). Once defrosted, unwrap it and run it under the faucet or spritz it with a spray bottle enough to get the surface wet. Place on baking sheet, bake at 350F until the breads’ crust is crispy again, to your liking. You’ll taste the difference!
